Yolo often stands with his little back toes crossed, which I find ridiculously cute! You can see vultures don't have bulky feet and talons built for grasping/carrying like other raptors. Their more chicken-like feet are meant for bracing on food to pull at it with their powerful beaks, instead.

I think it comes down to kindness and trust. Knell fell for Percy because he kept proving himself kind and caring, even if he wasn't particularly *nice* about it. Percy fell in increments as Knell flipped (almost) every assumption Percy had about him. He needed kindness too. #traitorandthewretch

8yo is now asking for specific books on her Christmas wishlist and I'm so excited. And this time it's a series without any dragon protagonists, which is usually a hard sell. The Familiars, by Adam Jay Epstein and Andrew Jacobson, if you're curious. She's definitely a fantasy reader.

The most frustrating thing about not finishing this chapter yet is I keep forgetting how these characters are positioned in relation to each other, since they keep moving. So I have to refresh my memory each time to keep my blocking consistent. They're just talking, but handsy about it. #amWriting

Crafting this morning: backup emergency foot bandages for Peaches. She supervised of course. Which means she's getting used to this since typically she hides under the bed when the supplies come out. I put her in a full wraparound bandage for the week, but it's good to have emergency spares.
