Daemrin is a wolf because I was a basic bitch when I was 22. I've also always described him as having a rough, barking laugh and wolfish grin. Lex has deer vibes, I think. Stately, graceful, quick-footed, but a vulnerable creature.

In COTBM, Lex and Daemrin are the core/POV characters. Two characters who are central to the story are Lex's parents, Marcas and Neve, but for very different reasons. Of course, Lex runs from home, so she's far from her parents. I'll refrain from mentioning the others, as there are spoilers afoot.

Currently playing on repeat in my head: the way Stack and Mary walk into the bar in the after credits scene at the end of SINNERS.

In COTBM, the only monsters are certain people (humans) whose actions harm others without any remorse or regard.

Yesterday, I learned that my company let everyone from my old team go, except my old boss. That would've included me if I hadn't changed jobs in August. I consider myself very lucky, but in no way do I think I'm "safe." It's just a grim reminder that corporations don't care about individuals.
