Really itching to get back to TTRPG design, trying to make myself focus on and finish the APRA website first. I know myself too well, can't get stretched thin... Aiming to have it done by early October, so there's time to prepare for this year's APRAween ARG.

This touches on a principle I embrace- lenses, not boxes. Putting things in boxes means defining hard boundaries, losing nuance, and resigning ourselves to only benefiting from one framing. Using lenses instead of boxes means we can use more of them, and see what we learn from new perspectives. 1/2

This is why I have to ban myself from using this site every couple days. Like I get it, staying informed is important, but we gotta maybe consider that we're grinding everyone's mental health to paste when we spend all day sharing The Horrors. We can't help others if we're stuck spiraling!

The whole "minimalism is in vogue, so maximalism is better/worse> maximalism is in vogue, so minimalism is better/worse >...etc" cycle would be a lot less exhausting if people would acknowledge they just like one trend more, rather than there being one and only one solution to everything

To talk more on this-- I feel as if my socials are supposed to be "archives" of my own stuff and worry that talking about other things would be annoying to followers. But I have my own website that should fill the archive role, and I want to help others get their cool stuff seen, too.

Cool game from the One Page RPG Jam 2025: The Tower of Icarus the-ravensridge-press.itch.io/the-tower-of... This is a solo RPG that has you build a tower out of dice as you ascend. You lose when the tower inevitably collapses. I love games that play with dice and this does something really cool!

Gonna try to talk more about cool things I come across and push past the anxiety over it. Right now I'm going through the One Page RPG Jam entries from this year, finding some cool stuff. I'll try to post about em as I find em, but without burying them in a thread-- expect some of those soon.

I have unlocked print-at-home capabilities... Would there be any interest in printed copies of my zines? Games or otherwise (Ex. the accessible design zine). I'm only gonna ship domestically in the US for now (sorry, intl. fees are a headache), but I think this should be viable, now!
