While I understand why people think he was 1 for months, it bugs me because this timeline affects Vik's characterization. It puts his general mindset into perspective. Despite 7 years of devotion, all it takes is 2 weeks of less than full attention & Vik decides Jayce has betrayed their dream & HIM

Fandom almost NEVER depicts him as obsessive about Jayce, despite having a godlike AU version of himself that's scoured timelines looking for ways to save his partner. Almost never characterized as impulsive & controlling & distrustful & other negative qualities, his actions are always justified.

Vik's decisions are often portrayed as reasonable because of the misconception that he was ignored for MONTHS instead of DAYS. We're all used to bureaucratic bs taking forever & that's why change never comes fast, but this fictional world's political timeline is determined by the story. Not reality

part of this is like, conservatives projecting; part of this is conservatives unable to imagine politics without money; and part of this is dudes who are so out of touch with feminized labor that they think children's birthday parties exist as a spontaneous act of parthogenesis
