Poetry in TTRPG should exist. However uncomfortable, rough, personal and not 'table-ready' at the slightest, TTRPGs are too vast to simply straightjacket them into _utterly functional_ as it seems to be a preference these days. Even if it isn't immediately useful, it must exist for its own sake.

Boy howdy, I have thoughts on a lot of this. The main takeaway is that this was a mismanaged project by all sides, and there's a lot of workflow issues that are rather interesting to dig into. Thread:

If you have a section on how to handle sex and intimacy, you're telling players to incorporate sex. "Oh but we didn't tell them to include it!" If I was writing a manual for a set of ear plugs, and there were notes on putting them up your bum, I'm heavily implying thats a thing to do with them.

Edited today, and did some marketing. Also lined up another (small) editing gig. I found a few people purchased my zines (thank you!). I made pizza, did dishes, and played Ark Nova. Blood pressure was good, and my brain seemed to work. Amazing what can happen when I stay home. Now to bed!

The stories we strive to emulate with obscure math and magic dice are not balanced. Frodo and Sam are not balanced against the Orcs at Cirith Ungol. Luke is not balanced against Vader in Empire. Paul Atreides is a confused teen versus a Galactic Empire. This imbalance is the point.

I haven't really had to wear my Network And System Troubleshooting Wonk hat in a few years. I haven't missed that hat at all.

I swapped internet providers and routers this morning. Copied old wifi settings into new router for easy install. My laptop refuses to see the SSIDs on the new router. Hardware issue. Grabbed a USB Ethernet dongle from a friend, and I can print again. Moving on to today's task 2 at 5:30 PM. FML.

A game about black music, that doesn't center on black pain, by a black TTRPG designer is not the path to millions. I've always known that. But still, I've been literally couch-locked for a few months RE: Five Fires because I'm terrified to launch it in this climate, this context.

This applies heavily to editing as well. It's sometimes more important to know what your game (script, article, book, song, video, performance, etc.) - hell, let's just go with ART and start again. Sometimes it's more important to know what your art =isn't=.
