Effective this year, Louisiana will now have closed elections. I think they decided to do this to offset the possibility of a bunch of black folks registering as Republican [which I think they should do anyway]... since they're argument is the maps are partisan and not racial. Call their bluff.

TURN OUT is key! Typically for a midterm, 40% is expected [even less for black folks] If the people come out and vote... aint nothing they can do about it. Their over-gerrymandering might actually help turn these districts blue, because they're expecting folks to give up and stay home.

... that said, its possible that its too late. Folks fucked around with the vote for so long, they allowed people to get in office that will actively disenfranchise. From purging valid voter registration, to tampering with the collection/counting of ballots... etc...

Not for nothing... but this sentiment encourages people to not vote, when NOW is the time to get the vote out en masse. Considering that voter turnout struggles to get to 60% in presidential elections, and 40% for midterms, one could question if we've ever really tried to vote our way outta this.

Responsible politics acknowledges that playing by the rules isn't cheating. That said, Dems in blue states have ONE job now. Respond in kind. Republicans currently hold 11 of the 26 seats in NY. Dems need to get that as close to 0 as possible. Minnesota, NJ, etc... get to chopping up them districts.
