e-scooters marketed at 6 year olds? No thanks! We need to tackle illegal e-scooters at the point of sale instead of trying to play catch-up once they're on the road. The law says it's illegal for anyone under 16 to use them on public roads and that they should be limited to 20km/h.

I'm going back to Ireland! Only next year, and sadly not to cycle the top 1/2 of the Wild Atlantic Way. Instead, it'll be a 3-day trip, to cycle the Royal Canal Greenway, from Dublin to Longford, and getting the train back to Dublin. Who's up for an Irish cycling adventure? There are some gotchas:

Measuring road safety solely by the number of people you kill is like saying "Very few people drown in my shark infested swimming pool". In the Netherlands, 75% of secondary school children cycle to school. In Ireland just 3.4% do. That's tells you much more about road safety in each country.
