There's this weird boomlet of "Uh oh, Gen Alpha is coming for us!!" content from Gen-Z YouTube creators I vaguely follow, and I am trying to remember if Millennials also did this when Gen-Z started to enter high school/social media, or if this is a relentlessly online Gen-Z thing.

I feel like I achieved a parental milestone today. My 2 year old stuck a piece of pasta up his nose. It was fully up there. A torch, tweezers, and a couple of cotton buds, and still no luck. So I opted for the nuclear option of a high powered squirt of water up the nose. It wasn't pretty.

This is the start of day 4 of my son's potty training. Being stuck in the house watching my son like a hawk and following him around with a potty has been intense. I've taken to walking up at 5 in the morning so I have some sort of quiet time time before the urine starts flowing.

As it's #NationalPoetryDay here's a word salad that got runner up in a competition a few years back.

Day 1 of my son's potty training was a challenge. 2 stars on his progress chart and 8 pairs of pants in the wash. He knows what we're trying to do, but he's at the age where defiance is a sport for him. And, to be honest, the 'wee where I stand' mentality does sound appealing.

A progress sticker chart, a jar of his favourite sweets, a bucket of individually wrapped reward Hot Wheels, plus bonus prizes for special rewards. Many activities. All of his favourite drinks and 30 pairs of pants. Tomorrow is the start of my son's potty training. My planning is military grade.

Squirted ketchup instead of honey into my son's smoothie this morning.

In a couple of weeks, my 2 yr old son will start potty training. One of the signs he's ready is he's starting to do his *coughs* business in private. Basically this is my way of telling you I've been relegated to the garden bench, waiting for him to give me the all clear.
