Wed. 11/19 COTD Knight of swords, ugh! Everyone wants to be heard. Some are in a hurry, the energy is unsettled. He is quick to react, to defend, to save, or give someone a piece of his mind. Think before speaking, and avoid knee-jerk reactions today. Let's get outside as much as possible.

People who dismiss e-books or audiobooks as being somehow less worthy or less meaningful than physical books are missing the point of books. Books are not ink and paper, just as human beings are not defined by their physicality. Books are connections; emotions; ideas; just like their creators.

Teaching about the jury today and reading “Why Jury Duty Matters” again. It is a book that should be at the center of civic and democracy debates. Perhaps today more than when it was written, it offers a path forward.

NOT DISCUSSED NEARLY ENOUGH THIS WEEK: Trump’s all over the Epstein files so he’s having Venezuelans killed as a distraction. Because of these crimes against humanity, a 4-star Admiral resigned and the British, the Dutch, and the Colombians are no longer sharing intel with the USA.

The Epstein scandal has always been a scandal about the ruling class as a whole, not one individual or political party. Epstein trafficked not just in the bodies of the children he abused but also in social connections that could bring elites together.

Libraries purchase books. When you see a book at the library, it isn’t “free” the library bought it. which in turn means that the community bought it. In other words, library books are not lost sales for authors and publishers; they’re positive sales. Active sales. Those are bought.

Raccoons are showing early signs of domestication. Urban raccoons are evolving a short snout, a telltale feature of pets & other domesticated animals, but scientists believe this is just a ploy to get closer to our trash. This is Roy. We feed him but aren't falling for his bullshit act.
