Simultaneously researching for “Top 5 Short Stories” and the genius of Ursula K Le Guin has me ready to run through a wall.

Meanwhile, Spielberg has “Jurassic Park III” on his legacy, an indelible black mark… yet his filmography is so vast that it becomes easy to explain away as an outlier.

Something I’m learning while researching for ‘Top 5 Directors’ is how important a single film can be if you have a smaller catalog. For example, Terrence Malick ascends to brilliant heights, and if he’s in consideration for the distinction of Top 5, “The New World” is the linchpin film. Is it good?
