On March 4, a U.S. sub torpedoed the IRIS Dena. Of 180 aboard, 87 died and 61 are missing; Sri Lanka rescued 32. Sinking a ship that was someone's guest, that was following peacetime protocols, that couldn't fight back. Then leaving sailors to drown thousands of miles from home. That’s a war crime.

The level of unpreparedness of the military operation in Iran and more broadly the Middle East is astoundingly alarming. Material wise, this is economically disastrous and unsustainable. Approximately $1B/day is wasted while people lack food, healthcare, suitable housing and affordable education.
