i'm in no way a miffy boffin and won't pretend to speak for her but i feel the execution and particularly the accuracy of her costume transcends all this anatomical pedantry and i applaud her commitment

My Dad passed away a year ago today. The last 18 months have been some of the most trying times of my entire life. I wrote about my reflections during these horrible times (and also a little bit about why Springsteen is my constant). Read:

just saw a recent photo of michael dorn and realised i'd very likely walk by him and miss my chance to squeeze his hand and softly whisper, stumbling through tears, "you'll always be i am weasel to me"

AMERICAN SPLENDOR because i caught the marvel ickies early and because i also hate and actively avoid biopics. except AMERICAN SPLENDOR. it works better than the peter sellers one as sellers barely has a discernable personality and pekar has almost too much of it. it's loud, funny, smart and stinky

Have some new stuff going up this week so I wanted to share a few pieces I've written recently as I'm terrible at promoting my work. 1st up, a look at William Petersen & cinematic masculinity in the '80s:

Just heard Grizz Chapman died. Truly a nice, warm man who loved comedy and loved the recognition he got from 30 Rock. Did a handful of shows with him my first few years in New York and couldn't have been cooler to everyone he came across there.
