In the Midwest there’s a grocery chain named HyVee & when I was at 1 today, there was a big line at prepared food. I asked a worker about it & she said they’re offering $3 evening meals & kids under 12 eat free. This is while the SNAP fiasco’s happening. 1000 served on Sat. & 740 Sunday. Rural area.

My family has been without half our income for 40 days. It has been.. very hard. We are willing to feel that pain so people can have health care next year, or to undo these illegal recissions. We are not willing to have been put through this for NOTHING.

Shutting down the government is a big deal. People have been hurt in big ways as a result of the decision. To have that suffering be for nothing—to re-open the government without actually having protected people’s health insurance and economic well-being—is unconscionable.

My laptop is still on its initial charge from three days ago. I have been using it a lot every day either to continue setting things up or writing. It STILL has over 50% battery life. (My old laptop had about two hours life off the charger.) What is this sorcery?
