It really doesn't take much!
For anyone unsure where to start, aim for a balanced routine (each muscle has a partner: bicep/tricep, chest/upper back, core/lower back, etc), free weights are better for beginners cuz they'll cover an area of muscles, and for spot treatment just aim at what's sore :]
add a skeleton here at some point
