I am really annoyed at Patreon's requiring to merge creator and fan profiles; they even say "You can also cancel any membership before combining.", knowing that this is going to encourage people to cancel memberships! But they're desperate to be a "social network" for some ungodly reason

Stumbled across the art for SEGA NERDCORE GENERATION, a 2014 album from independent J-core label ALLKORE, and I absolutely love it. Each package variant's modeled after a SEGA console game case, with mascot AK-tan dressed to match. I've included 🔗s to artist pages and Bsky handles in comment below

I was hoping to demonstrate this last weekend at RetroFest 2026. A true 8-bit Pocket Computer running CP/M on an 8Mhz Z80. On board storage, USB-C or battery powered, internal module bay and full RC2014 expansion bus. It runs Microsoft BASIC and Zork. So it's called the Zorkulator. Please share.

This was my introduction to both handheld gaming & fighting games some time in the earlyish 1980s when one of my dad's clients gifted it to him. The high / low mix-ups I learned at a young age would later translate to many Super Turbo tournament victories🥊

Want to copy Famicom Disk System games in 1987? The appropriately named HACKER magazine will show you how with DISK HACKER. Just how rife computer software piracy was in Japan is a fascinating rabbit hole to fall down. And it extended to the FDS too with the aid of tools like this.

Today's Random Game Saturday is King of Fighters '94 Rebout, the 10th anniversary remake for the PS2! This game's upscaled sprites weren't very well-received, which probably is what led to the much more elaborate redrawn sprites in King of Fighters XII and XIII...

Pro tip! If you're thinking of getting a Nintendo Color TV Game 6 or 15 because newer game systems are so expensive, make sure you get the variant with the "V" at the end of the serial number, not the "S". Otherwise you won't have true potentiometer controls!

A white unicorn has appeared! The "GB Smart Development Kit" was a standalone GameBoy cartridge copier that saved dumped games to FDD, and could load them onto a rumble SmartCard. Really primitive FAT functions that formats as it writes the ROM to 16-sector-per-track High Density FDD only.
