Once again, Mercedes Benz only seats 70k attendees, so the World Cup mathematically cannot bring “hundreds of thousands of visitors” all at once. Game days will functionally be no different from normal event days.

That thing where NIMBY neighbors complain about an existing affordable homes complex making much needed upgrades and investments and the “added density” is lower than the surrounding market oneplexes.

The entire conversation about “relief” in Georgia is disingenuous. The state has offloaded BILLIONS in education costs onto locals. The dominant source of revenue for most school systems is property taxes. The state could provide relief AND support our schools by reclaiming its share of expenses.

Every single legislator in Georgia knows how devastating cutting property taxes will be for our public schools and it is absolutely by design that the property tax repeal proposed by the majority will roll out over 6 years. #GaPol

The BeltLine’s only success without transit is just private development, and the city could have done that for free by just relaxing zoning restrictions. The financial tools like the TAD, the SSD, grant money, etc all exist to advance a transit corridor.
