Recently discovered Procreate and this. Tool. Is. AMAZING!! It's so intuitive and fun to use, been years since I doodled anything anymore at all and going back to it after all this time feels amazing. So so fun. Just lemme wrap/improve those sketches as much as I can then I'll post some stuff!

Little known story about my time at Retro Studios. A very large portion of the Prime series concept art was done traditionally, and most of it was unceremoniously shoved into a flat file. I got permission and a small budget to organize, frame and hang select images (from DKC as well) in the studio.

3d artists your not making print images or something for broadcasting you can crop images to remove empty space that dose not add to your work. You can rotate and work in portrait framing. Use then pixels to show your work not empty space that just makes your work smaller on screen.

I get why design & art tests are a thing but it's also crazy to expect people to work for WEEKS with absolutely nothing in return and how it's been normalized across #gamedev. Check your test scope and your expectations. The true evaluation is how people make it through those first months anyway.
