There were quite a few strong contenders, but this is the most important book I read in 2024. The case for a positive vision of masculinity and reinvention of boyhood and manhood for a world where "women no longer need men, but kids still need their fathers".

One piece of advice I got as a PhD student was never to delete earlier versions of chapters. Looking for a reference, I went reading some of my initial work and found myself admiring the wisdom of such advice. Deleting those chapters would have been wrong. Burning would have been better.
