HUNTING MATTHEW NICHOLS (2026): An unapologetic (and very Canadian) love letter to THE BLAIR WITCH PROJECT. Has a great sense of location, and some fabulous analog animation. Doesn’t quite leave its mark, but you could do worse, and 2000s horror is always better with a Jennifer Carpenter lookalike.

I think the reason I prefer Regal to AMC is because I’ve never been to a Regal Cinemas that didn’t have a TERMINATOR: SALVATION arcade game in the lobby. Some traditions matter, damnit.

It's...an interesting time capsule regarding the gender politics. An antagonist whose touch is representative of a fear of sexual contact certainly would be pointed in 1994, a year in which the AIDS-crisis was at its apex and was a leading cause of death for Americans of a certain age range.

THE X-FILES: “Genderbender” (S1E14): Aliens masquerade as the Amish, but accidentally spawn a sex-changing killer? Uh, gonna have to seek out some queer scholarship on this one. One unquestionable bright spot: Nicholas Lea, who apparently nailed this spot so hard they brought him back as Krycek.
