Yes! This is a seriously underrated movie. I wrote a piece about it a few years ago for the now-defunct website Horrorwood Presents, and it definitely deserves more attention. It's a horror movie about the failure of municipal infrastructure.

"SAVAGELAND may deal with a horrific and unthinkable situation, but it’s the very real world we live in that provides the backdrop to it." We're just guessing here, but we think SAVAGELAND is going to be one of the decade's standout horror films when all is said and done.

Two years ago, Kiyoshi Kurosawa's CHIME was released as an NFT, so we entered our credit card information into a sketchy website so we could talk about it on the podcast. With CHIME (finally) hitting theaters this weekend, now's a great time to catch up on an old episode.

One of the best horror docs in my opinion. Fantastic.

"Documentaries like 1000 WOMEN IN HORROR do a wonderful job of interrogating the old guard while carving out space for the next generation of horror greats." Donna Davies's latest film explains why horror has always been by, for, and about women.

"Freed of the incredulity of its predecessor, READY OR NOT: HERE I COME is able to achieve a level of cartoonish violence that suits the franchise." ICYMI: Radio Silence's latest action-horror hybrid is the rare sequel to outshine the original.

A fun listen, in part because as wrong as Monagle is about READY OR NOT, he's spot fucking on with READY OR NOT: HERE I COME. (*And* he agrees that both SMILE 2 and BLACK PHONE 2 are better than their predecessors?! Scary.)

"McMahon opened the gates for filmmakers to produce horror films that were quintessentially and undoubtedly Irish, much in the same vein as the unique horror cinematic industries of places like Japan, Korea, and Britain." Ireland deserves DEAD MEAT, and DEAD MEAT deserves Ireland.

"Much of Rawhead's brutality from the short story is toned down, but he still murders a child right in front of the child's father." Wouldn't be St. Patrick's Day without a celebration of RAWHEAD REX, so here's one from the archives.
