Not a classic, but I always wanted to see Wes Anderson remake the Green Slime (1968). I feel like the costumes and production design would work well with him, and he'd probably give us fun, handmade looking monsters.

I watched THE STRANGERS: CHAPTER THREE and, not that I'm trying to sound contrarian or anything, but I liked it. It's definitely not a perfect movie, especially when it tries to sell this creepy "love" story. But I was kind of surprised how super, super dark it gets. (1/2)

I forgot this scene. SECONDHAND LIONS is a great entry in the Robert Duvall and Michael Caine canon. Duvall is so intense, yet he's having fun, as is Caine. "You fight this one first, and then I'll let you fight the other three." "Yeah! Watch this, kid!"

I saw it at a local theater during its release and it scared the hell out of me. It was one of those great movies where it pulls the trick on you in thinking that it's over....but it's NOT.

We're all agreed, Harry won that foot race to victory lane, right? Rest In Peace, Robert Duvall.

I think DAYS OF THUNDER was the first movie where I started to really notice Robert Duvall. He is so good and natural in this scene, and he just makes you feel at ease with that chuckle and pat on Cruise's shoulder. "Don't worry about it."

I always loved how Costner really stepped back and let Duvall be the main character in this for the first half hour, and he carried it with no signs of strain. One of my favorite westerns ever. Bluebonnet forever.

Oh fuck. What a good dude he was. I got to spend three days with him on the set of RULES OF ATTRACTION & he was an absolute prince. He noticed some kids sneak on set & said "We should go over and say hi before security gets them." Just a really kind, funny, charming man. Heartbroken for his family.

Although DAWSON'S CREEK was certainly zeitgeist-defining, it was DON'T TRUST THE B IN APARTMENT 23 that truly made me appreciate James Van Der Beek. Not everyone would be so willing to portray a parody of themselves...and there's something to be learned about not taking ourselves so seriously.
