I get such tremendous joy out of watching Hader constantly bring up obscure horror films to people who are never going to know what he's talking about. That, in addition to his already proven skill as a writer/director, tells me he'll probably rock this.

I know the "Stu's alive!" SCREAM theory was around forever and it stemmed from the original plan for SCREAM 3, but I feel like I've picked up on one contributing factor, because I watched four YouTube reactions to SCREAM 2 in a row that could not remember if Billy and Stu died in the first one.

YouTube reactions can be so morbidly fascinating sometimes. I'm enamored with one channel I just saw react to a sequel where they not only forgot every single detail about the first film, they actually forgot MORE about the franchise than they mentioned already knowing going into the first one.

If we don't get a new HALLOWEEN in the next two years, it'll be the first time the franchise has missed a major anniversary. We've had new movies either on or around the 10th, 20th, 30th, and 40th anniversary years. And 50's the big one.

Besson DRACULA is the first time I'm missing anything with Dracula in it in theaters in my life, but arriving in theaters 13 months after the last DRACULA movie sure makes it easier to not feel like you're fighting an obligation to see the worst looking shit made by the worst guy.

I love when a TALES FROM THE CRYPT episode is just "this guy can't communicate with his wife and now he's murdered everyone he knows."

I've often made a point of pointing out that old horror guides probably didn't love your faves, but A-Z OF HORROR is the first horror guide I've encountered where almost every movie gets 0-1 stars. Flipping through, I've seen two 4 star ratings, one 3 star, and well over 100 zero to 1 star.

I never talk about one of the coolest/first gigs I ever had, which was this HELLRAISER comic for the beloved HELLBOUND WEB. Unofficial, but it was a full 22 page comic. I was 19, my first time scripting a comic, working with an artist, fuck, my first time working with an editor. Still proud of it.

SPIDER-NOIR looks amazing because I grew up in an era where every superhero movie was either set in the '30s or had a '30s aesthetic.

Jason Aaron and Adam Archer's HOW I SPENT MY SUMMER VACATION is one of the absolute best FRIDAY THE 13TH comics. It's the Jason Voorhees version of LONE WOLF AND CUB. I can't think of a better selling point than that.

I cannot tell you how long I've been waiting for NECA to do JASON TAKES MANHATTAN and JASON GOES TO HELL. And technically based on the game? Just a bonus. Those were my two mains.

One of my favorite little moments in THE FINAL CHAPTER is that bit where Jason stands at the window and just looks down at Trish, waiting for her to move again before he resumes the chase.

FRIDAY THE 13TH PART 4: How could anyone have a photo of Jason? That is completely impossible. Let's go with "artist's conception." FRIDAY THE 13TH PART 5:

The exchange of "fuck you" looks just before Tina ignites Jason in THE NEW BLOOD is another one of my all-time favorite moments from the franchise.

Props to FRIDAY THE 13TH PART 2 for going out of its way to broadcast that you can have sex and get absolutely plastered and survive.

This shot in FRIDAY THE 13TH PART 2, less than one second in length, is one of the scariest moments in the entire franchise.

You don't know much about the characters in the original FRIDAY THE 13TH. Nobody's fleshed out, nobody has an arc, and that weirdly makes them the most authentic. Truly feels like the first day at camp, hanging out and getting a feel for people you've just met.
