Public Service Announcement: Butcher's beloved dog Terror dies in the finale. For no reason. Ostensibly as a motivator for Butcher to flip out. Damn I am so mad. I guess all lazy writers go to the same summer camp.

I'm not finishing this episode of The Boys. I am so fucking sick of people using the death of dogs for story points or motivation or whatever. Jesus fucking Christ can't I watch a single god damn thing without seeing a dog die? Fuck fuck fuck I'm so mad right now.

I grew up in the 80s. There's not a movie that played I've seen less than 9 times. Because you watched whatever was on. Or if you had a VHS player you'd just watch the same movies. I feel it is much more impressive now to have seen a movie that often.

“No no, you see it’s very normal and natural for a bunch of pasty Americans and Brits to play Ancient Greeks but WE WILL NOT TOLERATE MELANIN” - the very convincing argument from people who insist they’re not being racist about the casting of the Odyssey film.

I love the Trolley Problem. There are infinite variations and all of them will tell you something about yourself. A trolley coming down the tracks comes to a split. On one track there is a person tied to the rails. On the other track are 5 people tied to the rails. You control the track switch.

Ugh. The latest episode of Ridiculous History gave me such a gem and since neither the show, nor the hosts, are on Bluesky I can't share with them. But check this out - reading this, I seriously thought it was about Time Pirates.

IS Kingpin. The definitive Kingpin. You can't imagine anyone else in the role. One of his best performances. And that says a lot. You can't beat Robert Goren but this comes close.

Hey Dogg Zzone! When are we gonna see
@nataliedee.bsky.social
and
@drewtoothpaste.bsky.social
back on the pod? It would make a lot of sense, considering your shared history, to have them as guests on an episode of Bigfeets.

Reminds me of an episode of
@1900hotdog.bsky.social
's podcast where they read a book where the author says "if only Jesus had lived, imagine what a force of good he would be". Same level of cluelessness.

The reason I love books like Reacher and such is that you get to see bad people facing consequences. That does not happen in the real world. Reacher, Peter Ash, Court Gentry, these guys get to make the bad guys pay and you can pretend for a moment that justice actually exists.

Love this series. Peter Ash is the most likeable of all the dad book heroes (Reacher, Orphan X, Grey Man). I really hope we get a TV or movie adaptation
