Been a while since I've been on Bluesky, and came back to a few 'this person has followed you notifications'. Most always leave me with a 'what post or comment or what made them follow me?' Though some, of the 'selling you titillation' variety, aren't so hard to gauge.

I am the kind of person who will be writing a message/text/comment/whatever and go into an aside so use brackets, only to then discover that aside has an aside so go back and change first bracket to a comma so I can use brackets for second aside.

This is obviously not a fully comprehensive look at, what I understand of myself to be, rather nuanced views. Even on my final point I find myself at odds with myself. I do often wish I had a simpler, more aimed morality. Would make things easier. But it wouldn't be me, nor what Animorphs taught me.

Due to the state of things in the world I've thought about my own morality a lot lately, and kinda need to just express it.

Realised I shared this with zero context (and debated leaving it that way). My DnD group just started a new mini-campaign using the Anime rule books where we play isekai'd versions of ourselves. I became a Pet Monster Trainer whose Pet Monster is Toasta (another player created the human leg canon).

Toasta Trainer Burt Wants to Battle! This is my latest piece of art. Been working on it over the last couple weeks (colouring took ages for being so simple). Done pretty much entirely from references/tracing. Some minor full freehand, though mostly just for cleaning stuff up.

I am the kind of lucky who puts headphones in when I go to the shops, get back to the car and can't find the case, then see it sitting lodged under the wheel of the car beside me that had been there the entire time...

One of my favourite things about writing my first drafts out behind is seeing the different pens used as I go, and watching them slowly die. It's like a weird version of sedimentary rock layers.

Trying to work out the outfits characters will wear to prom for my comic WIP has really hammered in two things- 1- How uninteresting 'masculine' outfits tend to be. 2- How internalised the idea that 'feminine' outfits have to all be different from each other is.

Was gonna make some dumb joke about how this FB 'memory' is nothing, but then realised that's most of my actual memories...

Finished* the 3rd draft if the first issue/chapter of my big comic WIP yesterday (*by hand anyway, still need to type most up). Did it on break at work and one of my coworkers asked me about why I was rewriting at all (they don't understand drafts) and-

If someone asks me to recommend a comic for a non-comics reader, I never knee-jerk push my own favorites. I ask what they enjoy in other media. Talk to them. Maybe your tastes align, great. If they don't, don't center yourself in the equation, center their interests. There's a comic for everyone.

I've been on ADHD medication for a few weeks now, on a long acting one. I've noticed increases in motivation and focus, which has been great, but the thing I just noticed might be my favourite. I'm back in a place I can fully enjoy and also analyse the media I'm consuming at the same time.

Was talking about the Yautja from the Badlands trailer to my DnD by calling them 'hot Predator' and was gonna look them up to show, but realised last second that 'hot predator' was probably not something I wanted to search for.

My biggest weakness in writing comics (or any script medium) is that I often forget to name characters in dialogue or captions, because I write it such on the page.

Use the term “touch grass” to indicate that someone needs to seek out reality, use the term “touch moss” to indicate that they need to seek out ancient forest magic beyond their mortal comprehension.

Look, I have a bias without a doubt. But I thoroughly, thoroughly enjoyed Fantastic Four. Between this and Superman it makes me so happy to see superhero films that embrace the comic material rather than feel like they're embarrassed by it.

I guess mine was Jurassic Park at . I was obsessed with dinosaurs and got too excited at the ads on TV apparently. I don't remember seeing it at the cinema, but I do remember watching it at home with my velociraptor cup. At 10 it was Priscilla, Queen of the Desert. Watched as a family.

Basically, a sincere perspective goes a long way. One of the first things I try to do when writing an established character is to ask "How do the fundamental things about this character actually feel to them?" Yes, they fly - but what does flying feel like? How doe sit differ to this other flyer?

Spending a good chunk of my night (and likely weekend) drawing test pages for my comic WIP (to make sure it all works and such, and for fun) while listening to Tegan and Sara. This is how I have a good weekend.

This is morally indefensible. There is no rationalization that excuses this murder.

Never waste your energy on what could have been. Spend it on what could be.

Don't know when I'll have time to do it but I'm (finally) listening to the audio book of Tegan and Sara's High School and I have so many thoughts, largely about how they somehow tapped into my own complicated queer awakening despite my life being almost completely different. It's hit me hard.

Missed everything before the opening title due to traffic, but Superman is real good. Just fun and hopeful and so not afraid of the fact it's based on a comic book.

A good part of it will just be my ADHD (started medication just over a week ago, so my first dose now having lower impact) but my brain has been obsessed with 'What It Sounds Like' from KPop Demon Hunters. I can be doing pretty much anything and then realise it's in the background of my mind.

Me- The main purpose of a first draft is just to get it done. Forget perfection and focus on momentum. Also me- I can't recall the exact word I need here and I can't to any further until I get it.
