I was “volunteered” into helping with a quiz at work but have had every suggestion ignored and then told I should spend more of my free time helping (I’m a carer and have the longest commute in my team). Feeling a little worn down and unappreciated at the moment.

I should have been a bear. The idea of getting thick on purpose, eating everything in sight, and then sleeping for four months straight sounds like a solid life plan. I feel like I missed my calling.

So the best part of my lesson on Friday was when the students discovered I had been anonymously putting cat stickers on my colleagues stuff in the office. The students then demanded cat stickers to put on their own things. These are third year university students in their early twenties. ☺️

I had occasion today to dig out papers I wrote as an undergrad English major, to go through notes written by my professors. Some real shit in there but the care and attention I was given, the way my ideas were taken seriously—this is a beautiful thing whose value I dearly hope we're not forgetting.
