I feel like anyone who has dealt with abusers know this: at a certain point, you need to build an impenetrable barrier between your inner world & what they say about you. The more wrapped up you get in their version of events, how they’ve twisted the narrative, etc., the more energy they suck away.

Empaths who are too overwhelmed and burnt out from the constant onslaught of horribleness to speak, and feel so guilty bc the societal mandate to “speak up” about every single horror is constant & nothing you say or do will ever feel like enough: I am with you. I love you. You are doing enough.
