Historians: Anyone have a good (academic or popular, but high quality), wide-lense book about Europe in 1848, the various (attempted) revolutions, causes, effects, etc? I haven't been able to sifted myself what is worth reading.

Profs talk about their research in their classes. Students provide feedback, refining ideas. They in turn get experience with the process of developing research ideas and pursuing avenues of thought that can't be found in published works. Both sides of the podium benefit.
