Good post about why making the curriculum about what you want kids to be able to *do* just doesn't work at a national scale. The curriculum should predominantly be about what we want kids to *know*. Leave the rest to schools, and the doing will sort itself.

I've had a fun day at Labour conference, but I'm once again struck by the education panels being dominated by non-teachers making huge, implausible statements. 'We need to make sure creativity and teamwork are throughout the curriculum' Um. This is next to impossible to achieve at a system level.
