Please consider donating to my sweet friend’s GoFundMe. Her daughter lost everything (including their first home) in the tornado that tore through Poplar Bluff, MO Friday night. Their survival story is incredible 👇🏼👇🏼

Happy International Day of Women in Science-our team of artists and scientists who work together to complete the creative and science projects, comprised 75% of our team from 2020-2024. We access all sites via backpacking. The going gets tough but we get the task done.

A trump supporter told me that he didn't want his tax $ going towards research into "cloud shapes". The 4/26/24 cloud shape outbreak had minimal casualties and deaths despite occurring in the Omaha metro area. This was a direct result of research, forecasting, and warnings by NOAA, NWS, and SPC

Any further staff cuts to the National Weather Service “means we have a higher — maybe much higher — probability of missing life-saving weather warnings and giving people the heads up they need,” former AMS president/frmr NOAA official Mary Glackin told me.

An attack on NSF is not just an attack on the staff working there; it's also an attack on academia as a whole. The aim is to starve out the universities and stop the training of new scholars. It's an attempt to rip out the system's roots and stems so it can't come back.

I am beyond words. Perfect 22° halo, sun dogs, the works. Honestly this brought tears to my eyes, I’ve never, ever seen it so bright and brilliant. Probably the only good thing that can come from the temps being -3°F currently lol

I should really post here more often. I enjoyed this gorgeous severe storm all to myself in eastern Colorado near Punkin Center on July 7th, 2024. These moments alone in an open field with nothing but desolate dirt roads and tumultuous skies are my absolute favorite.

I strongly recommend people start downloading every piece of science they can from government servers and back it up to non-government sources. Most especially from NASA and NOAA.

Two weeks ago today, I chased a handful of severe storms near Stockton and Glade, Kansas that, while fairly uneventful severe-wise, ended with a truly brilliant sunset. The rainbow was a nice touch 🌈
