My Pops picked up photography about ten years ago, but the pandemic turned him into a full‑blown student of the craft. He spends many of his summer evenings capturing hummingbirds — and recently learned their wings can act like tiny prisms when the light hits just right. Magic in motion.

That glorious feeling when you’ve been adrift at sea for eons without finding the thing to let your ridiculously buggy brain think about instead of The Noises (I haven’t felt so perfectly content since Legends of Runeterra got canned. I love you Pokémon Champions.)

I had a very good week of games last week. For the first time in ages, I got to attend my local game meetup. It was AMAZING. I also got to play lots of great games, some old and some in progress, from many of my friends. :) I’m a very lucky guy.

My friend Bryce Carter released a game earlier this month called Dibble and it is INCREDIBLE. It is a climbing/shedding game where you playing melds to move hidden point cards toward you, but passing allows you to see what the hidden cards are - OR swap them. boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/47... 🧵

I should’ve never downloaded Pokémon champions. It’s all coming back to me, not the memory of how to play, but the raging addiction to outplaying RNG. I don’t have the mental fortitude to devote as much time as I used to, thankfully.

Race to the Bottom is a shedding game that @cityhare.studio is working on right now. All players bring their own deck and try to shed it out first. It’s giving the same feeling as Greasy Spoon, but with way more flexibility to do insane stuff. (By design) I want to play it with 3+ soon!

Today I built my dream bmp->vec tool. You can paste or drag in an image, it upscales it w/ upscayl, traces it w/ vtrace, and then you have an interface to remove bits, and even apply smoothing to reduce control points to individual shapes then copy or save out. mac app-> github.com/stfj/VectorC...
