"Nougat" is a new domino climbing game for 2 to 4 players that uses a single set of double nine dominoes (for 2 players, you only need a single set of double six dominoes). I think the team variant is best, but it is good at all of the player counts listed. docs.google.com/document/d/1...

when I argue for games being unpleasant, expressive, & experimental some people assume I'm being dismissive or derogatory toward "normal" hobby game design but what people don't realize is how often I just play normal-ass euro games all I am saying is we can & should have *more*

Over the past few days I've been playing around with some rudimentary bone carving from some ossobuco I made over the weekend. This has resulted in two different sets of dice: a set of four sided Daldøs dice and a set of two sided stick dice. Bone is shockingly hard to cut and file so it took hours!

Game design pro tip: You can use I've guide on a paper slicer with a pencil to precisely scribe lines on your cards relative to their edge. Using the same tool you used to slice the paper should ensure consistency

Here's a fun #boardgame idea/challenge someone could tackle: A wargame played on a board like the ones you'd see in a COIN game, but the pieces used are a standard chess set. The units represent different military ranks with varying different stats and abilities

Came up with a new abstract game. It all started with the board. It'll take some tweaking to get the rules just right, but it's an interesting starting point!

My game for April is one that’s been done for a while, but I actually submitted to BGG today: Tumbles! Rules and STLs for printing your own can be found here: drive.google.com/drive/folder... Tumbles is what happens when you miss curling, know about lawn bowls, and have CAD skills.
