My favourite board game reviewer played Workworkwork and wrote about it! I definitely anticipated a lukewarm review, as WWW probably caters the most to the hardboiled dry logic paperpuzzle sickos out of all of my stuff, but really glad to again read his words about my work :)

I've noticed that when we cover games that have not yet released, the videos don't do so great, especially in the comments where people don't have anything to argue about yet. Anyway, this game is special. It was a privilege to be able to talk about it, and I wish everyone a meaty play of it.

Or if not a play, then at least an ogle of all that wonderful art. I already want a spinoff where boss baby and owl team up to solve murders.

So this is the second thing I've seen today that talks at length about how the art of a game contributes heavily to its themes and artistry. It's a perceptive link I had failed to make myself: when we talk about games as art, the *literal art* can be a huge part of that.

I've always wondered if the discussion around these games reflects the quality of the work or the fact that I happened to write lot about them. It's really a core insecurity I have the games that I've worked on. Would they speak without this critical framing (the designer diaries, etc)? 🧵
