When I need nation- or statewide stats on pregnancy outcomes for my research, MMWR is the first place I look. One of the few places (the only place?) to get reliable descriptive stats on US health. More importantly, this is a key source of health surveillance for the public.

The MMWR, for those not familiar, is the Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report. It's a key way that medical practitioners from across the nation communicate with each other about threats to public health. MMWR is the first place reports about HIV cases turned up, for example.
