Day 20: My Hobbies Besides writing, my main one is TTRPGs, which often interacts with my writing in some way. I also like puzzles and walking or hiking (when it's not a Minnesota January). #FantasyIndiesJanuary

If it's a primary character, I figure out their names before I start writing them. Minor characters might change names a bunch. Both Cami in Hexmark's Fate and the protags of Fox Eyes were TTRPG characters first, so I came up with their names while building the characters for a game.

It is going to get better, but not until we admit where we actually are and quit pretending it's all a big funny exaggeration and they're not REALLY surely gonna... Yes. They are. Let's respond appropriately and get through this.

In Hexmark's Fate, we've occasionally talked about how Cami and the Emperor have not a ton but a couple key similarities. They're very good at inspiring loyalty in people and rallying them, and they use that in Very different ways. Also fiery personalities.
