Everyone please do your own research. For example, in Kofi's AI policy where they state that they are not banning AI content, as well as the content guidelines, which only restrict AI content that would also be banned if it was human created. Posts like this are how misinformation is spread.

This is incredibly disappointing and a change on their earlier stance, to which I even highlighted on my patreon as to why I changed platforms (screenshot of original 2023 stance below) Definitely let your voices be heard on their support platform, I will be.

I didn't know @ko-fi.com even allowed genAI on their platform. Disappointing. I would argue that prompters don't own the copyright to anything they generate, so how are they allowed to upload and sell it?

It's gotten to a point where I don't want any of my interests or ambitions to be lucrative because any time something makes money there's some venture capitalist fuckhead that comes in and RUINS EVERYTHING GOOD ABOUT IT Get out of games, get out of webcomics, GET OUT OF ART. GET. OUT.

The thing that makes me most angry about what's happened to webcomics is how the scene has been imitating the shitty industry more each year: companies are taking advantage of artists, grinding them up, and leaving them to dry after they get their use outta them. Webcomics should stay indie.

I do think we're seeing the end of the "webtoon" golden era of webcomics where it made sense to post on these hosting sites. They're all a shell of what they were and are only getting worse for indies. I still think these platforms will make money, but only for big collaborators like Marvel/DC
