Even if you aren't convinced trans people deserve to use the right bathrooms & participate in gendered sports, you should worry about the effects of trying to root out a few trans people on the much larger set of non-gender-standard cis people. Anti-trans folks think they can tell who's trans, but:

It says something about 2025 that rereading West and Zimmerman’s 1980s classic work on “doing gender” feels radical.

They ban medical care for trans people, saying that it hasn't been studied enough, and then they ban the studies.

“It’s extremely alarming that grants that have been vetted by the scientific community and deemed important and impactful to understand the world are now being cancelled because of political ideology,” says @lkfazio.bsky.social. “This is direct censorship of scientific research.”
