On the less-bright side, there's something wrong with the dishwasher. There was food/junk stuck in the dishwasher arms, but I've cleaned that out, and I'm still finding black stuff (like black pepper flakes, but not) on my "clean" dishes. So I'm having to hand-wash any dishes I actually want clean.

Moving day today! So all my stuff is out of my storage unit, and that and my furniture & heavy stuff from the place I've been staying are moved into my new home. I can't move in quite yet, though, since the place still smells strongly of paint (and some stuff from the storage unit smells musty...

Anyways, I've been laughing (semi-hysterically) for the last several minutes over that one. Figure out something. I mean, there are sure a bunch of things I know I need to figure out (and probably plenty I've forgotten besides). No idea which I was meant to write down...

Checked my to-do list for today. I, uh, must've gotten interrupted writing something down at some point, as one item on my list today with a couple stars next to it to denote its importance level is, "Figure out something". And, uh, I have absolutely no idea what I'm supposed to figure out. 🤦‍♀️

I'm also trying to pick out paint colors (currently all the walls are white or pale cream). But there are ~7000 colors to decide between, & my mental/emotional energy is pretty burned out right now. I need to just get a couple samples and start trying things, but I'm just struggling to make progress

Bought my first home, earlier this month. It's exciting, but I'm so exhausted from the whole almost-2-months-long process, and now I'm trying to get some work done on the place before I move in, and every. single. thing. is taking 10x longer than it should. Blrgh.

Somehow managed to hurt something in my left foot (maybe a tendon in my big toe?) today. It doesn't hurt as long as I don't use it, so I'm shuffling around trying not to move my left big toe while walking. Very awkward (and I normally walk quite fast, which definitely uses the toes to push off)...

Went to the No Kings protest here today! The format was a little different than the last ones. I preferred the previous format, but I think the larger crowd made the new format necessary (and more people is better, even if it requires changes). Saw one of my Senators!

Well, the Mariners scored 10 runs in the 2nd inning tonight, and 5 more in the 3rd, and ended up winning 20-8 over Cleveland tonight. That was fun to watch! It was still hot out, but starting at 6:05 pm was much, much nicer than a middle-of-the-day game. Go Mariners!

Blrgh!!! That thing a week ago, where someone failed to fix a problem and made it my problem instead... I spent a bunch of time and effort figuring out a reasonable path forward, and the person who was supposed to move that forward failed to, and time ran out, so we're stuck with the original (bad)

The M's won today! Temp was upper 90s at the start of the game, and maybe 104 when the game ended. Happily, the other 2 games we have tickets for have already been changed from day games to night games, because the next few days are supposed to be even hotter.

I know it's not pc to say it, but I miss twitter, when I could set tweets to private. There are so many things I'd have posted about, but don't really feel like I can/should share things publicly. So I don't post much. And I've been so swamped lately, it's been ~10 days since I've even checked bsky.

I wouldn't wish anxiety on anyone, but dealing with people who don't have (or understand) anxiety can be sooooo frustrating. I feel like I'm about 1 straw away from the last straw in just about every aspect of my life, and then people act like I'm over-reacting when things get dumped on my plate.

So anyways, there are my ideas for new Olympic sports, so figure skaters could get more medals. Oh, and I also want a skateboard-park-type event, like snowboarding slopestyle. I bet everyone could do quad jumps if they could take off from an elevated area and land lower! It'd be insane, but fun.

While I enjoy watching lots of Olympic sports, figure skating is my favorite Winter Olympic sport, and I started thinking...what would it be like if they gave out medals for figuring skating the way they give out medals for cross-country skiing, or snowboard, or speed skating...

I don't know any of Bad Bunny's music (though the people who seem to hate him made me inclined to like him even before I heard his music). That was a fun half-time show! High energy, entertaining, impressive choreography/coordination. Sort of made me want to dance. :)

Well, blech. Bluesky changed the security level of my posts without my permission. I very specifically limited who could interact with my posts, and now that has changed. Not happy with that, at all. If you also limit your "interactions", you might want to check if your settings have changed.

Saturday was First Last (the first last-day-of-a-month), the other side of my paired fake holidays (together with Last First, 1 Dec). It's a reminder to myself that if there's anything I already want to change about this year - I should do it now; and not just give up and wait until next year.

Part of my problem is, I want to watch the games today, but I also want to do other things at the same time, at least for the first game (chores around the house, stuff on my computer, read a book). But it feels rude to go to a neighbors house and then read a book while watching the game with them.

Blrgh. Our only plan for today was to stay in and watch both football games, but then the tv died (or probably the cable, but the result is that the tv won't work). It glitched yesterday but was fixable. But nothing is helping today. Frustrating. We have a neighbor we can watch with, but still...

Nonviolence is, in fact, working. This administration is weaker than it was a year ago. More and more of the public is becoming galvanized against it; its agents are being impeded.

I apparently forgot to put my phone on silent last night, so I was woken up a couple hours early by multiple text messages coming in. BUT...it was actually a good thing, as it was my brother texting me the livestream link for my niece's dance competition, so I got to see her perform live.

It's an old and obvious pattern. An unpopular president - failing on the economy and losing his grip on power at home - decides to launch a war for regime change abroad. The American people don’t want to “run” a foreign country while our leaders fail to improve life in this one.

It’s not about drugs. If it was, Trump wouldn’t have pardoned one of the largest narco traffickers in the world last month. It’s about oil and regime change. And they need a trial now to pretend that it isn’t. Especially to distract from his sinking under Epstein and skyrocketing healthcare costs.

Obviously I'm rooting for the Seahawks, but I have to say, the 49ers black unis are pretty nice. All-black tends to be boring, to me, but they've got some nice red & gold highlights and the black background makes the color pop. (I still think the Seahawks should've worn their neon green unis). :)

I checked my book log, and I read 79 books in 2025! 25 of those were novellas. 45 were books I read for the first time, and 24 were books I re-read (some more than once during the year, ha). Lots of "comfort reads" since it was a stressful/frustrating year in general.

I went for a run this afternoon, and saw a coyote! For much of my run, I was on a path next to a currently-dry creek bed. At one point, I heard some noise, and this coyote came running along the creek bed! It went past me pretty fast, but still was very cool to see. :)

Seahawks are playing the 49ers Saturday for the division, #1 seed, and first-round playoff bye. Just heard that the 49ers are wearing their all-black unis, and I seriously want the Seahawks to bring back their head-to-toe neon green uniforms, just for the sheer contrast. :)
