One of the *good* media surprises of the last while was how good Teen Vogue has been. This is regrettable news that is of a piece with other takeovers and shutdowns in media.

Am working, as hot stove season begins, to reconcile some Blue Jay fans (including new ones) to the probable loss of Bo Bichette. Bo & Vladdy Forevah is … iffy. Jays likely to need 2 good starters, and I’d chase a top reliever or two, as well. That’s Bo‘s likely free agent harvest and more.

May I throw a happy birthday out to older son Sam today? He makes music and loves it (always has, from 3 years old), defends and engages with the environment for work and pleasure, and brings generosity and caring to all he does, and to us.

As a good friend said of Game 7, you love being part of an immortal game, but you want to have won it. The Globe, however, has at least 5 pieces on the Jays today … and they deserve them all. Will be talked about, with rue and pride, for a long time by old fans, and new fans. I’ll go with ‘epic.’

Yesterday's gig at TIFA. If memory serves (Trevor Campbell's expression is a clue) I was asking why anyone who had actual tickets to Game 7 was even attending our event! (I did promise Susanna Kearsley and I would be done talking and signing in plenty of time for people to get home or to a bar.)

I am NOT going to only sign sheets for Conversation Tree's special edition(s) of TIGANA (or other special editions) while listening to 'Sunday at the Village Vanguard' on Sunday morning, but ... it is nice.

Jays aren’t even my #1 team, only 2nd option, and I *still* spent a good part of the night and early morning replaying moments and might-have-beens. That’s what happens when a superb WS goes 7 games & 11 innings, really. I feel for their true fans, old friends, our younger son. A painful sunrise.
