For the past few years, really starting with Trump's first presidency, I have been fumbling around trying to find a good news source. The best news source I can think of is Democracy Now! If anyone has any news recs I'm all ears.

The media wants the war and likes Trump and so will not report on this war as if it is unpopular, despite overwhelming polling showing that it is. Covering things as if they are unpopular is for things they want to stop and they want the war and want it to succeed.

U.S. interventions in Latin America and the Caribbean haven't always gone as planned
President Trump's pressure campaign against Venezuela is the latest in a long saga of U.S. intervention in the region that is rooted in the 1823 Monroe Doctrine — and is a mix of success and failure.

"Cleveland’s ability to market itself as a low-cost city to live-work-play is hurt by its car dependency — the second-largest personal expense after housing. More housing, jobs, shopping and services near transit offer a low-mileage, low-cost lifestyle which Cleveland can market to the world."

New York City is a rich place full of technology wizards. It's also a place with a lot of pedestrians. I would think the city could prevent deaths of people walking home from a NYE party.

Last night a lady told me the bike lanes make traffic worse. She told me this after she told me Covid has made people more aggressive drivers and before telling me the truly dangerous road in our neighborhood is when the bike lane ends because people drive so fast on the 4 lane road.*

It's weird how much people discount luck. I was healthy in my 20s and had to have a splenectomy due to a virus. I was simply unlucky. And now I can't vent my spleen so I have to be on this app all the time complaining about stuff!

Saw a bumper sticker on a Hyundai that said, “I worked 70+ hours a week for 40+ years to afford my privileges. You can too.” If I worked 10 hours every day for 40 years and was driving a ten-year old Hyundai, I might be bitter too. But the problem isn’t the youngs. (Also. No you didn’t)
