I gotta say idk how people are blitzing through Draw Steel combats. Threw a hard fight with terrain at my six level 2 players tonight and we took 2.5 hours to get through two rounds, although everyone had a lot of fun and felt really engaged (because of the tactics & off turn effects).

Enjoying the story of Forbidden West so far, I like the complication introduced with the Death's Door quest. I also in particular like the story of Aloy needing to learn that friends are important and a rebuke of the lone hero.

Enjoyed the first zone of Forbidden West. Climbing mechanics seem overall improved, still too early in the skill tree to have opinions. I can tell this game is a marathon and not a sprint though, going to need to allocate specific hours to play it rather than just spend 100% of my free time on it.

While horseshoe theory has a lot of problems, there are way too many people on the left who agree with the far right that American soft power is fake and the only thing that matters is hard power and military spending. I can't decide if playing Civ or some similar 4x would fix them.

Can't tell if this is the kind of poor decision a long weekend brings but I'm starting Horizon Forbidden West.

Pesto's 5e expansions have been a delight in my D&D games and I fully expect I'll get the same out of these Draw Steel options

skill issue. just do the worldbuilding/research and then not put it into the story this is not a joke. thinking out the implications but not explicitly enumerating them allows meaningful consistency without bogging your story down

Throwing some humans at my Draw Steel party tonight. Alchemical Flask is *really* good at clearing our summoner minions, and the Blackguard's Advance! Villain action is crazy good at ripping through the front line. Also threw in Broulard to try out the Dastards :)
