These are calls for mass political violence, against all Democrats. They openly call for the bombing of "Democrat" cities and for the jailing or killing of Democratic politicians. They are from some of the most influential voices in right-wing politics. Will anyone say anything?

Whether it’s Republican politicians joking about the murder of Melissa Hortman or Democratic politicians expressing their condolences after the murder of Charlie Kirk, both parties have a extreme rhetoric problem.

Charlie Kirk’s death is awful and abhorrent but it’s appalling that the President is calling for national mourning for a right wing propagandist and hasn’t said a word about Officer David Rose or the brave employees at the CDC

I love the all-in approach folks are taking with type annotations in Python. It enables for static code analysis (to some extent), provides clearer semantics for users/documentation, and (hopefully) is on the path towards a typed Python in the future, which would enable all sorts of optimization.

github.com/BrianPugh/cy... is the one. Balancing between typing and documentation to produce useful CLI. All the type utilities like Typer, but without the insane bloat to simply add help/documentation for the CLI (imagine the mkdoc strings!).

I really really want to try out Typer for argument parsing in Python, but the design decision for adding 'help' strings is insane. This is a ton of boilerplate that mixes semantics between command line information with basic type semantics. I'm thinking Click might be the sweet spot.

We just compared pooled versus stratified analysis of GWAS for locus discovery (pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/40902600/), so I was particularly interested in the comparisons of SuShiE and other methods that rely on genetic-ancestry-group-stratified analyses to SuSiE applied to the pooled data. 3/n

This was neat work by @nmancuso.bsky.social et al developing and benchmarking a new multi-ancestry fine-mapping method (“SuShiE”). I learned something about the performance of pooled v stratified analyses but still have some Qs. 1/n
