Okay I think I need to stop. People coming into my home may be okay as an incentive to do whatever tidying and cleaning I feel is urgently necessary. For guests, it may even be worthwhile to put in extra effort for prettiness. For interlopers intruding upon my home uninvited, it definitely isn't.

I've set myself the intention to think more often of the amazing things we have today that we take for granted and hardly notice anymore. Example: Next year, I'll go to Slovenia. I don't need to worry about money exchange, visa or passports -- I've got my wallet full of euros and my German ID card.

Today at #chezRat: My first attempt at a potato bread. I learnt a lot on that one: * Next time, scale the ingredients by 1.2. It rose nicely, but it just wasn't enough dough for the mold. * I really need to bake bread at the bottom of the oven. This one was in the middle and almost got burnt.

Lately, the water heater in my bathroom has been acting up a bit. After some procrastination, I now managed to send out a request to have it serviced. That felt extremely hard. I'm just glad they have a comfortable online contact form and I didn't have to phone them, too.

I have returned from the movies, and damn, was it worth it! I was a bit worried at first due to the only child in the (very sparsely populated) theater sitting in the seat right behind me, occassionally kicking my seat and being somewhat noisy, but even that quieted down after a bit, or left.

Oof. Finding a parking lot was a bit of stress, but I've made it to the cinema in time. Looks nice and empty, too, so far.
