Nature meta-research project puts claims in social-science paper to the test. Refs in last post I'm interested in Econ and Psych so I focused on that: Econ had about the same rate of "not reproducible" analyses as Psych and a worse rate then Political Science.

Economics has way more publication bias than medicine or psychology. I'd guess this is due to economics relying on observational data and there doesn't seem to be any good frameworks for encouraging null results with observational data.

Viewing humans as largely rational and utility maximizing is a more normatively optimistic and generous view of human decision making than we give it credit for.

Very interesting article. In Sweden, there is basically zero political discussion on the widespread discrimination on the labour market. It is almost impressive how politics has been dominated by immigration for a decade and very few seriously talk about this.

Even during Jim Crow when there was essentially full disenfranchisement of African Americans in much of the South, the Republican Presidential candidates still managed to get ~30% of the vote. It is unclear to me who the voting base for the Republicans was in the South at this time.
