The Supreme Court has stated that Canadians have a Charter right to strike, and the Premier of Alberta just nullified that in order to end a teacher's strike that is entirely her fault. She's such a coward that she walked out of #ableg as soon as she tabled the bill. #abpoli #cdnpoli

I hope that the Premier reconsiders her desire to invoke the “notwithstanding clause” in dealing with Teachers. This very rarely used clause, stripping Canadians of civil rights, has no place in collective bargaining. General strike would be a commensurate response. #ableg

Amazing that basic, verifiable aspects of officially archived history, within the living memory of many people, have to be introduced by news organizations as: "It wasn't fake."

This country is allowed to have tariffs. You just have to convince Congress that they're a good idea. The President can hold tariff powers instead of Congress, if you can convince voters to amend the Constitution. If you can't convince anyone of anything, rethink your ideas.

This is the asymmetry in our politics and media. If this was the other way around, Biden had pardoned someone then charged with trying to kill Trump, it would be the biggest story in America and every Republican commentator, congressman, news outlet, would be screaming about it in unison.

The next time someone argues that conservative parties are more fiscally responsible, please remind them that the UCP is forcing cities to spend millions more to hand count ballots just to pander to conspiracy theorists who don't understand the difference between voting machines and vote tabulators.

In the FIVE ENTIRE MONTHS of bargaining since Alberta teachers rejected the previous contract offer, the province offered [checks notes] a free Covid shot and one additional EA per school. This was never a real negotiation and they know it. This strike is on them. Solidarity with teachers.
