If you ask someone how Into the Odd has streamlined their games, they will probably mention removing the "to hit" roll and just rolling damage. I blasphemously ask the question: can we re-incorporate accuracy and missed attacks with Into the Odd without turning it into a major slog?

Getting this out of the way now: The Dungeons & Dragons Basic/Expert set (1981) should be abbreviated to BX in all cases. The slash in the common abbreviation "B/X" is unnecessary and leads to the utterly tragic "B/X/OSE." This is a hill I will die on.

While in the LOTR movies Denethor just randomly went crazy, that's not the whole story. Denethor became a doomer. He spent all night scrolling through bad news on his magic device, because the Dark Lord only let him see bad news and not good, until he lost all hope and it broke him.
