Nu Marathon is fun

I can’t remember who I saw say this but: the notion that a revival of a 30 year old Macintosh doom-like as an oppressively frictive experience with tightly crafted lore and bold art direction is a “selling out” cash grab moment and not an obvious passion project is so backwards it’s hard to fathom

The only source of hope I hold onto here is that historically, any country where technology gets gentrified out of reach of lower classes winds up creating a much weirder, cooler tech scene less dependent on the bleeding edge.

I'm really hoping for an industry philosophy backslide into removing the focus from high fidelity visuals and graphics technologies and more towards creating super performant games with that optimization magic touch I know we can accomplish if given the time and resources.

I am continually amazed at just how open and thorough the Marathon team is, My opinion about that game has gone in a million different directions since its initial reveal but fuck man every time i see anything from that team im just awestruck. I'm tapped in for the long haul, This game is magic.
