The cycle lane was part of a Ā£1.7m TfL-funded scheme aimed at reducing deaths and serious injuries by 2041. However, it doesnāt exactly feel like a safer route when thereās an advertising console placed right in the middle of it...

I would like to give up driving. This is one of my regular trips comparing car to public transport fastest option. I have included cycling although the route is entirely on 60mph roads and absolutely horrendous (not an option for me)

There are many widely available health & wellness apps that will remind you to periodically get up from your desk and walk around but I can personally recommend my own low-tech method which is to continuously drink ungodly amounts of tea.

I need some computer nerdy advice. I downloaded Nord VPN and since then the number of phishing attempts on two of my three emails have increased. I have had more attempts in the last 24hrs than in the last five years. I thought it was supposed to stop that not encourage it.

Ferry to Amsterdam £310 each way, plus train to Newcastle (£669 in total) Flight from Edinburgh Airport £217 return This is why we have a global heating crisis. Perhaps the US-Israel v Iran war will change things, although ferries use fuel so they will go up too

The only problem that AI is actually designed to solve is wages Whilst it does that it will increase fossil fuel consumption and emissions, increasing global heating Eventually, all that will be left is a bunch of AI datacentres arguing about who started it

Drove (yes, I do that) to my in-laws last night. 3 miles, 9 minutes. Had one guy drive up the side of me at the roundabout entry and overtake me on the roundabout before slamming his brakes on to get between me and the car in front. Had a woman beep me for letting another driver out of a junction.

So protesters against genocide are terrorists and protesters promoting racism, hate, and the theory of that horrible Yaxley-Lennon creature are perfectly okay...we got the measure of where the Government is. It's not good.

I have read a lot of books on cycle touring and long distance bike trips (and shorter ones). The thing that I take away from every single one of them is this - - it's YOUR trip - It isn't competition, it isn't about doing something the same as it's been done before, or better. It is about YOU.

One of the simplest things that could be done to increase active travel is letting people know that paths exist. I cannot tell you how many time i have driven past new paths and gone āI didnāt know that was thereā or spotted one from the train and said the same. Build it and tell people its there!

Being back working from home for those who can. It makes life easier for those who canāt, makes roads safer for walking, wheeling and cycling, improves air quality and reduces pollution. It even allows children to play outside. Why doesnāt government support that? Because they lose tax revenue.
