HISTORIC! A supermajority of @council.nyc.gov members (39/51!!!) voted to reform the NYC street vending system by passing Int. 431. As the daughter and granddaughter of street vendors, I could not be more proud of how far we’ve come.

Today the @council.nyc.gov passed COPA to add another preservation tool to our toolbox! By giving qualified purchasers a first chance to bid on distressed properties in city enforcement programs, COPA will help level the playing field & stop the cycle of speculation & rising rents.

My colleague Vickie Paladino continues to dehumanize the over 1 million Muslim New Yorkers that the NYC Council represents. It is time that the Council takes action and expels her. We cannot allow such flagrant racism within our legislative body. My full remarks:
