I loved joining @NY4ChildCare’s rally (with my little guy!) to demand more affordable childcare for working families!  The City Council took a first step on 2-Care this year with a small pilot and now we need to expand it to make sure all working families have access to universal child care!

Last night, we hosted a CPR training with FDNY inspired by a heroic effort of Leela—a Greenpointer & nurse practitioner who recently saved the life of a neighbor in McCarren Park. After seeing someone collapse, she rushed to his side & began administering CPR, saving his life.

.@NYCWater will dock a sludge boat outside Newtown Barge Park for 2-3 hrs a day for 4 months while their smaller ships that service the plant undergo repairs. This will be disruptive, but is necessary for DEP to move sludge out of Newtown Creek Facility & get work done quickly.

No more garbage bags will be lying around McGolrick Park! We allocated $40K to containerize all garbage in McGolrick and to expand larger containerization bins in McCarren Park to fully containerize all the trash on busy weekends. This will help keep rats out of our parks!
