Weird how the trial for the pro-Trump, white nationalist mass shooter who is accused of murdering two students at Florida State University (FSU) is about to start and hardly any news is talking about it.

Ezra Klein explains why he is against the “oppositional” approach of Dems. One example he gives is blatantly false: immigration. But more important: Klein shows how folks like him almost always casually throw vulnerable people under the bus in the name of “practicality.”

There is absolutely no good faith reason to use the term “AI” for any technology one is selling. It serves only for dazzling people into thinking the technology has capabilities that it doesn’t. If one wants a technology to be trustworthy, just use a transparent, informative term without hype.

Hi, just a note— The local ICE/ERO agent directing his team to fire at reporters' faces in Chicago this morning has been threatening press since we showed up at immigration court in June. His agents shot us both at close range last week, too. None of this started today!

Ezra Klein baldly called Luigi Mangione’s alleged crime left wing violence on The Bulwark podcast. That Atlantic story the other day talking about a rise in left wing violence did the same. I’m genuinely confused by this. Mangione’s politics seemed to me incoherent to say the least.

It’s literally not popularism though! It’s a principled position that was established at a time when it was incredibly *unpopular*, not because it might become popular, but because it was considered right and just!

@npr.org
! We worked late tonight putting together this handy pocket guide! It doesn't address road design issues, but if we're going to educate road users, we should include drivers. It's the size of a folded business card. Print it, fold it, put it in your wallet!

As CNN offers daylong saturation coverage of the podcaster’s funeral, I went back and checked to see how CNN covered Melissa Hortman’s memorial on 6/28, where Walz spoke and Biden/Harris attended. It got about four minutes during the hours it was happening—less than Jeff Bezos’s wedding that day.
